Makita XT287SM1/XT286SM1 Brushless Cordless Combo Kit, Battery Included, 4 Ah, 18 V, Lithium-Ion

With zero emissions and lower noise, the 18 V LXT® brushless cordless two-piece combo kit (XT286SM1) is a welcome solution for clean-up applications. The kit includes an 18 V LXT brushless cordless blower (XBU03Z), 18 V LXT brushless string trimmer (XRU12Z), 4 Ah battery (BL1840B) and charger (DC18SD). Both are powered by a single 18 V LXT battery, the same battery that powers the full range of solutions in the expanding LXT system. This blower features a compact and ergonomic design, weighing in at only 6.5 lb. and measuring 32-1/2 in L. With no carbon brushes, the Makita® BL™ motor runs cooler and more efficiently for longer life, and delivers speeds up to 116 mph air velocity and a full 459 cfm. Makita's efficient BL™ motor is electronically controlled to optimize battery energy use for up to 50% longer runtime per battery charge than similar non-brushless tools. Electronic controls efficiently use battery energy to match the changing demands of the application for increased power and speed when needed. A cruise control lever provides management of power and runtime. The efficient brushless motor delivers up to 6000 rpm for faster cutting with the string trimmer. The XRU12Z is equipped with Automatic Torque Drive Technology, which automatically shifts from 4000 to 6000 rpm depending on the density of the application. There are three-speed options (4000/5000/6000 rpm), allowing users to match the speed to the application. The easy-loading bump-and-feed trimmer head is compatible with 0.080 or 0.095 in line and offers reverse rotation allowing users to quickly clear the head of entangled grass and weeds. Both pieces of power equipment features Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™). XPT™ is a protective seal inside the tool, and is engineered for improved operation in harsh conditions by channeling water and dust from key internal components. These products are a part of Makita's expanding 18 V Lithium-Ion system, the world's largest cordless tool system powered by 18 V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita® 18 V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.
