There is a building, a counter, and people behind it. You can walk in, put a fitting on the counter, and walk out with the right one. The catalog on this site is the same catalog the counter works from: about 120,000 items, with what is on our shelf today shown separately from what comes in on a truck.

We do not hide stock behind an "add to cart and find out" page. If it is here, we say where it is. If it is not here yet, we say what day it lands.

Plumbers, electricians, supers, building managers and general contractors working on the Upper East Side. Most of our business is repeat trade accounts on buildings within a short drive of the store.

A boiler down on a Tuesday does not care about a two-day shipping promise. In-store stock ordered by 10am goes out on our own van the same day in Manhattan. Delivery is $35 in Manhattan, free over $250. Outside Manhattan it is $65, or $50 over $250.

Warehouse trucks land Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, so anything not on the shelf has a real date rather than an estimate.

NY Paint & Hardware at 1668 First Avenue is our other store. Paint tinting and cut-to-size panel work happen up there; plumbing, electrical, hardware and tools happen here at 1587 First Avenue. When an item is only at the paint shop, this site says so rather than promising it is on our shelf.
